News Highlight: Freshmenu founder Rashmi Daga rewarded with the ET-Facebook Woman Ahead award on Friday.

Rashmi Daga, founder, and CEO of FreshMenu was given the ” ET-Facebook Woman Ahead award during the ” ET Startup Awards 2018″ award function held by Economic Times yesterday in Bangalore city of South Indian state Karnataka.

Rashmi Daga is a 38-year-old woman behind FreshMenu, a delicious food startup that offers a daily changing menu with recipes from around the world. FreshMenu receives around five lac orders on a monthly basis and gets 80% business from its repeated customers.

With over 50 employees at the present time, FreshMenu is operational in four smart cities of India viz Bangalore, Gurgaon, Mumbai, and Delhi.

Rashmi, when she asked by media reporters what propelled her to launch her startup, replied in a gentle manner, and said her love for cooking is the main motive that has to lead her to found FreshMenu 4 years before in Bangalore, Karnataka.

In another question posed to Rashmi reads what are your suggestions to the potential women entrepreneurs in the audience to which Daga replied see we have a lot to lose if women keep worrying and if we stop that, we have some chance of winning.

Freshmenu founded by a Delhi born entrepreneur named Rashmi Daga back in 2014 has raised a total of $25.3 million in funding from a pool of investors in multiple rounds. Rashmi serves as the current CEO of Freshmenu and the company has been in the line of a food distribution business since its inception.

Rashmi, before she founded Freshmenu, has worked with IBM where she was tasked to take care of business management while in J&J Medical she used to head the sales team.

We keep on seeing day in and out many Indian women entrepreneurs making a mark in different sectors. This is, of course, one of the great moves towards encouraging and empowering women in our country.

Meanwhile, OYO Rooms, a hospitality service providing company, has bagged up the ” Startup of the Year ” award while Subrata Mitra, Flipkart’s first investor, received Midas Touch award for being the best investor in ET Startup Awards 2018.
